About Confluence

Where the work converges.

Confluence is a three-day, $100M business forum convening the founders, investors, physicians, and engineers building tomorrow's most consequential companies — across capital, frontier technology, and regenerative medicine.

We bring together four flagship forums. Confluence Capital is the finance forum — founders, VCs, fund operators, and the deal-makers building tomorrow's category leaders. Confluence Vertical is where frontier AI, agentic systems, robotics, and the broader technology economy converge — from foundation-model labs to humanoid robotics to the applied-AI founders shipping today. Confluence Vital, co-produced with the WIRM World Congress and the Global Health Forum, anchors the medical programming. Confluence Eternal is the cultural extravaganza — a fine arts forum at the Civic Center Auditorium with professional programming in music, dance, visual art, and theatre, open to attendees and the broader public. A live pitch floor, fireside conversations with category-defining leaders, and structured 1:1 matchmaking turn rooms into deals.

Built in Silicon Valley. Designed for the people building. A global convening — this edition: San Jose, 2027.

For operators & enterprise leaders

Source the next category-defining bet.

  • Innovation Hub access — first look at frontier AI, robotics, and wearables
  • Direct lines to founders for partnership, deployment, or acquisition
  • Peer circles with senior operators across both tracks
  • Corporate-development and BD threads built into the schedule
Four Modes of Programming

Built for signal, not spectacle.

Every session is designed to compound — workshops feed pitch sessions, fireside chats inform investor introductions, networking moves money. No filler.

$

Pitch Floor

A live, Shark Tank–style pitch competition. Vetted founders pitch a panel of seasoned VCs and operators on stage. Winners take home capital, partnerships, and a seat at the table.

Fireside Chats

Unscripted conversations between leaders and the operators who interview them well. No PR talking points — just the decisions that defined the company.

·

Speaker Series

Deep technical and strategic talks across both forums — concrete AI architectures, regenerative medicine breakthroughs, post-mortems, and the lessons you only learn by shipping.

Founder × VC Matchroom

Scheduled 1:1 introductions between founders raising and the investors backing them — matched by sector and stage. Plus operator circles for senior leaders shaping what's next.

— Advisory Board, Confluence Capital

Sonjoy Chatterjee

Chairman

Goldman Sachs India

— Keynote

Sonjoy Chatterjee is the Chairman of Goldman Sachs in India, where for over a decade he has led one of the firm’s most strategically consequential markets. Under his stewardship, Goldman’s India platform has scaled across investment banking, asset management, and securities — becoming a central conduit for global capital entering the country.

Before Goldman, Sonjoy spent more than a decade at ICICI Bank, where he held senior leadership roles spanning corporate banking and global markets, giving him a rare dual fluency in the perspectives of Indian institutions and international allocators. He holds degrees from IIT Kharagpur and IIM Ahmedabad.

At Confluence Capital, Sonjoy joins the keynote stage to discuss what global allocators are now learning about India and the broader emerging-market opportunity set, and how the next decade of cross-border deal flow will be shaped by AI, healthcare innovation, and the realignment of global supply chains.

Vertical

Barun Das

Managing Director & CEO

TV9 Network

— Keynote

Barun Das is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TV9 Network, India’s largest broadcast news network — a position from which he has rebuilt one of the country’s most consequential media platforms around a digital-first, multilingual, multi-format thesis. Under his leadership since 2019, TV9 has become the most-watched news network in India, with leadership positions in Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, and Hindi, and a digital footprint that scaled in record time to levels legacy media took two decades to reach.

An alumnus of IIT Madras, IIM Calcutta, and the London School of Economics, Das previously served as the youngest-ever CEO of a major Indian news network at Zee News, with earlier executive roles at India Today Group, MCCS (Star News), ABP Group, and Astro All Asia Networks in Kuala Lumpur. Between his Zee and TV9 stints, he founded Mydia100 Communications, a mobile-video platform at the convergence of technology, content, and healthcare — later acquired by TV9 Network.

At TV9, Das has launched two industry firsts that define the company’s tech-forward posture: News9 Plus, India’s first OTT news platform, and Money9, the country’s first multilingual personal finance platform. His long-form interview series Duologue with Barun Das has become a distinctive format in Indian media. At Confluence Vertical, Das brings the perspective of a digital-native media operator who has rebuilt a legacy industry around platforms, languages, and audiences — and a sharp view of how AI, OTT, and personalized content are reshaping the global media economy.

Capital

— Advisory Board, Confluence Capital

Dr. Asoke Deysarkar

Founder, Chairman & CEO

PfP Industries

— Keynote

Dr. Asoke Deysarkar is a deep-tech operator and Ph.D. chemical engineer who has built one of the most patented industrial-chemistry platforms in the United States. As founder and Chairman & CEO of PfP Industries, he leads a Houston-based holding of five operating companies producing the specialty chemistries — polyacrylamide friction reducers, guar polymers, and proprietary stimulation systems — that power modern oilfield completions across North America.

What started as a single product line has scaled into a vertically integrated platform: a guar manufacturing facility in India, distribution and blending sites across Texas, Wyoming, Montana, and Ohio, an in-house R&D lab, and a patent portfolio spanning fluid rheology, friction reduction, and water treatment. Recognized as a Top 100 Company in Houston, PfP exemplifies the kind of deep-tech industrial operator the modern capital market is rediscovering: science-led, patent-rich, hard to disrupt.

Alongside his operating role, Dr. Deysarkar is an active angel investor and advisor to a portfolio of early- and growth-stage companies, drawing on decades as a builder to back founders working in hard tech, industrial AI, and the science-led category leaders being built today. At Confluence Capital, he brings the dual perspective of a founder-CEO who has compounded an industrial company across three energy cycles and an investor now allocating capital and conviction behind the builders shaping what comes next.

Congressman Ro Khanna

Congressman, California’s 17th District

U.S. House of Representatives

— Keynote

Ro Khanna represents California’s 17th Congressional District, which covers much of Silicon Valley — home to many of the technology companies shaping the global economy. First elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2016 and serving since January 2017, he has built a national profile at the intersection of technology policy, economic opportunity, and the role of government in an era of rapid technological change.

A graduate of the University of Chicago, where he earned a degree in economics, and Yale Law School, Khanna worked as an attorney and law professor before entering Congress, and earlier served as a deputy assistant secretary at the U.S. Department of Commerce. He is the author of Dignity in a Digital Age: Making Tech Work for All of Us, which argues for distributing the gains of the technology economy more broadly across the country. His legislative work has spanned digital infrastructure, civil liberties, economic policy, and congressional authority over matters of war and peace.

At Confluence 2027, Congressman Khanna brings the perspective of a policymaker who represents the center of the technology economy — offering a view on how AI, capital, and innovation intersect with public policy, and on the responsibilities that come with building the technologies that increasingly shape everyday life.

Rukmini Vijay Kumar
— Bharatanatyam · Featured Opening

Rukmini Vijay Kumar

Rukmini Vijay Kumar opens Confluence Eternal. Artistic director of Raadha Kalpa dance company and director of LshVa, an art space — she is also the founder of The Raadha Kalpa Method, a pedagogical system for training classical Indian Bharatanatyam dancers.

Her work bridges the rigour of classical Bharatanatyam tradition with the curiosity of a working artist building institutional practice for the form. At Confluence Eternal she performs alongside members of the community — opening the program as a shared moment rather than a solo statement.

Maestro Bickram Ghosh

Maestro Bickram Ghosh is one of India’s greatest versatile artists — a tabla virtuoso whose work moves fluidly between Indian classical, contemporary fusion, and film scoring. At Confluence Eternal he brings the One World Project, a cross-cultural collaboration with Italian saxophonist Gianni Denitto.

Indian percussion meets Western classical and contemporary jazz — a duo set of original compositions that translates between two musical worlds in real time.

A solo musical by Arpita Chatterjee

My Name is Jaan is a solo musical bio-drama tracing the illustrious and tragic life of Gauhar Jaan — India’s first recording superstar — through song, narrative, and the textures of a vanished Calcutta.

A single voice, a vintage gramophone, and the story of the woman who pressed a country’s first records.

— Community Theatre Adaptation

A working bridge between Tollywood and the diaspora.

A community theater adaptation of the cult Bengali comedy Bhooter Bhabishyat — in which an eclectic group of ghosts from across India’s history unite to save their crumbling, ancestral Kolkata mansion from unscrupulous real estate developers who want to demolish it.

The Confluence production puts community performers onstage alongside original cast members from the film — a working bridge between Tollywood and the Bay Area Bengali community.
